Elk Mound School District Projects

Project Status: Construction

The Elk Mound School District is responding to space and facility needs and an increase in enrollment through a facilities referendum that passed in April 2009. The projects include additions and remodeling at Mound View Elementary School, Elk Mound Middle School, and Elk Mound High School. The referendum was passed by evaluating the needs of the district and responding to community input.

George R. Field South Fork Suites Residence Hall Addition

Project Status: Design/Concept Development

SDS Architects with design consultant, Elness Swenson Graham Architects of Minneapolis, was recently commissioned by the Wisconsin Division of State Facilities to complete an 83,500 square-foot addition to the George R. Field South Fork Suites Residence Hall on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus. The 240-bed, cluster-style residence hall addition, scheduled for completion in August 2012, will pursue LEED Silver Certification through the U.S. Green Building Council, a national standard for green design, construction, and operation. Sustainability is a high priority goal for the UW-River Falls campus.

Hovlid Hall Addition & Remodeling

Project Status: Construction

The renovation will provide modern spaces to students living in the hall and a new centralized desk/lobby area. The addition will house food service facilities, a convenience store, informal meeting areas and support spaces. The remodeling work will replace the inadequate infrastructure systems including mechanical and electrical, telecommunications cabling, and fire alarm and fire protection systems. The architectural design will create a welcoming entry, a unified North Campus image, pedestrian traffic improvements, and "design-forward" indoor and outdoor spaces for students to live in.

Jarvis Hall Science Wing Addition & Remodeling
University of Wisconsin-Stout | Menomonie, Wisconsin

The Jarvis Hall Science Wing Addition & Remodeling project replaces a portion of the existing Jarvis Hall with a larger state-of-the-art science education facility. Included in the project are labs and classrooms serving biology, chemistry, physics and applied-science programs.

The architectural design will have continuity with existing campus buildings through the use of brick and stone accents. It will also feature an inviting character from the exterior with generous amounts of glass which will provide the interior with abundant natural light. The project will implement sustainable design and high-performance principles that emphasize long-term durability, energy efficiency, maintenance, and adaptability.
