The new Ashland Service Center consists of 34,000 gross square feet that replaces the existing Service Center. The new building includes 16 truck bays for Fleet Operations, warehouse space, two truck bays for Substation repair and maintenance, and a large Service Truck Bay for Fleet Vehicle maintenance that includes a wash bay. The new office area provides both open and private offices, crew’s quarters, and conference rooms. Precast concrete wall panels were utilized for the exterior shell, which allowed construction to continue through the winter months.

The new 32 acre site accommodates a larger service yard for vehicle and equipment storage. Site development included on-site storm water retention and landscaping in order to meet local and state ordinances. The project was recently awarded LEED NC Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
