80,000 Square Feet
|
Design of this 80,000 square foot facility centered on the research and manufacturing processes required to develop and produce single chip modules (SCMs) used in the computer industry. To meet the client's schedule requirements, the project was fast-tracked to allow construction to begin while the project was still in the design phase.
Office and research spaces included a reception area, a conference room, private offices, an employee creativity center, and a large lunchroom.
The project involved the design of seven clean rooms ranging from Class 10,000 to Class 300. These areas include mid-production, final production, clean room supplies, lamination, gowning, photo, and a heat react tank room. Other manufacturing areas include a wet area, waste treatment area, labs, and storage.
Unique project features include the use of yellow lighting in designated areas; the design of high roofs for mechanical access; specialized heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment to handle toxic fumes; and waste treatment for toxic chemicals.
