The Elk Mound School District is responding to space and facility needs and an increase in enrollment through a facilities referendum that passed in April 2009. The projects include additions and remodeling at Mound View Elementary School, Elk Mound Middle School, and Elk Mound High School. The referendum was passed by evaluating the needs of the district and responding to community input.

Projects at the elementary School will include 8 new classrooms, energy efficient lighting upgrades, and a new multi-purpose / cafeteria / kitchen area.

The middle school will feature 6 new classrooms, a new conference room, mechanical room, and mechanical upgrades to increase energy efficiency.

Projects at the high school will include a new multi-purpose cafeteria / kitchen addition, upgrades to electrical and data systems, remodeled science and science labs in place of an outdated cafeteria area, and a secure centrally-located main entry and office area.
