Performing Arts Center
Hudson, Wisconsin |
21,000 Square Feet |
The addition of the 21,000-square-foot Performing Arts Center to the Hudson High School provides the Hudson School District with a professional-class performing arts center.
Before entering the 750-seat auditorium, students and guests can be greeted from a trumpet balcony located directly above the exterior entrance. Upon entering, attention is drawn to the focal point of the auditorium: the oak-framed stage featuring both side and balcony stages. An elevated control booth is discreetly located at the back of the auditorium.
An orchestra pit allows full, simultaneous expression from the school's music and drama programs. The pit, covered when not in use, also gives speakers the space needed to move closer to the audience, and allows more intimate gatherings in the auditorium.
The addition provides several areas to support the auditorium, including a scene shop, dressing rooms, band and chorus classrooms and practice rooms, offices for school faculty, and storage.
